The Liking Complex Part 2: The Law of Detachment

So you have a new crush whom you know nothing about. He has enough mystery and allure that you put him straight on a pedestal. This can happen the most when you think this guy is perceived as out of your league. Your limerence will take over your thoughts and if you aren’t careful, your actions. How can you prevent yourself from repelling him energetically?

The power of detachment….

With any goal, career, or love you can’t have a choke hold on it. The more you want something and cannot see an option without it, the more it will slip through your fingers. Listen, there is no harm in having a secret crush. It motivates you to go out, wear the best outfit, and master the perfect makeup look. The only problem is when it turns into an obsession and you are plotting and scheming.

You have to trust….

When you are feeling obsessive you need to live in a reality when it doesn’t work out. Get back on the apps and on some dates to balance out the intensity.

Your mantra….

“it’s either this or something better.” That can diffuse the situation and not make him out to be the only man on earth. Maybe he isn’t a good fit and the universe is protecting you from him.

Play it cool…

When you tell your friends you have a little crush their first instinct is for you to take action. They will encourage you to add him on social media or go up to him and ask for his number. All of this if you are in the feminine energy is the worst move you can do. You are leaving it all up to him and now he knows you like him. It will put all the power in his hands and you are showing all your cards.

What can you do to loosen the grip?….

If it’s out of control, then switch up your routine and make other plans. If you are in a class with him, then sit further away. Especially when he has not spoken to you. In the case where he knows who you are and has spoken to you, then be polite and friendly and match his energy.

Do not orbit him on social media….

Did I say that already? You might think it’s all a part of the long game. It is a terrible habit to get into since you will now know where he is and who he is with. You will assume his sister is his new girlfriend and spend the weekend spiraling. Save yourself the headache.

Manifesting is nothing without detachment….

You might think manifesting is going after what you want. Think of it more as planting a seed, watering it, then trusting the universe will let it grow. Your part in manifesting isn’t every step. You have to trust that if he noticed you and is interested, he will take the steps to court you.

Bottom Line….

When you love someone set them free. You can’t be possessive or have a tight grip on someone without repelling it from you. Leave the room for him to come towards you. Not to say you should ignore him or be mean. Match his energy if he has decided to chat with you. It can be easy to take things too far when social media is involved. Too tempting to know his whereabouts and to plan your schedule around him. You new mantra is “it’s either this or something better.” You need to trust that if it’s meant for you, it would work out. The only action you need to put forward is being present and responding. Allow the courting process to happen if it’s meant to be.

How To Get An Accurate Tarot Reading

I had an amazing in-person tarot reading on Halloween last year. It was very accurate and I have to say I am following the future prediction almost too well. However, there are plenty of ways to get it wrong and to even get scammed out of money. I want to break down what makes a good tarot reading and what places to avoid….

It needs to be in person….

There are many ways to receive readings online such as Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, etc. Most of those readings are either “taroscopes” meaning they are speaking to a specific zodiac sign or simply a general reading for anyone. This can be a fun little thing to watch here and there. It can be harmless, but you will not get an accurate reading for you specifically unless you are sitting across from the reader.

Why is that?….

The reader is most likely an intuitive reader and can pick up on your energy or even downloads from the universe they are receiving. You can ask specific questions that can be answered.

Who should you avoid?….

I would say anyone who is advertising on TV or just seems a little too pushy with making a sale. Most readers just enjoy doing it and might do a pop-up in a witchy bookstore, etc. Ask around and do some research through word of mouth.

If they ask to break a curse though money, etc….

Breaking curses is a trick that many con artists use to get fast cash. Saying anything dramatic or demanding indicates they are a fraud. Even someone who is seeking you out on instagram saying they will give you a “free reading.” A true reader will not ask you to come back.

Do not go to a friend or someone who personally knows you….

I know you want to cut corners and have your witchy roommate just do it. However, they already have a bias. I won’t go to the same reader twice. I believe there needs to be a clean slate.

How much should you pay?….

Some might only want donations. Sessions and prices can be posted on a website. Go to a place that is within your budget. It can depend on the area of the country and prices in general. Go with your gut on how clean and organized the website is. If it is giving you pause, then seek out another person.

What can you do to prepare for the session?….

Do not go in with a million questions. Brainstorm what topic you really need guidance on. The most common are love or career questions. The more specific the better. You need to prepare your vibe as well. Try not to enter the room with frantic energy. Get to the location ten minutes early and decompress in your car or waiting room.

Take a picture of the spread….

When the reading has wrapped up take a picture of the spread. You might want to dig in more and examine the cards on your own time. Or just remember what they said for your future card for instance.

Be respectful, pay, thank them….

This person took the time to do this. I prefer to prepay if that is offered but there might be a case where you Venmo after as well. A store or reader might offer a gift certificate for a reading, which makes a great gift to a friend.

Bottom Line….

The most important thing is to seek out the right person. Most will be attached to a store or might do pop-up markets. They are not the ones who advertise on tv or anything that feels fake. The more flashy they are the more likely they are a fraud. It’s my personal opinion to not get a reading from a personal friend or someone who has met you. They might carry a bias and not give you an accurate reading. The amount of times you go is up to you. I feel once a year is enough to get some guidance. I find it unnecessary to go every month or excessively. There needs to be some breathing room. Either way, take it with a grain of salt. You have free will and the power to shift your own path. It is never set in stone. A “bad” reading could be motivating to shift and pivot.
